  • The long wait is finally over

I anxiously went to UST early this morning for our clearance report. It wasn’t easy especially that I was expecting a failing grade in Phys 205 as I have told in my earlier entries. Fortunately, though my head is aching [with fear, anxiety and because of the heat of the sun], I arrived there early because of vacation-induced lightness of traffic. ๐Ÿ˜›

The fifth year students and the ESC were the ones who distributed the clearance reports. But classrooms were still closed even when hundreds of students are waiting outside in the corridors. Fortunately, we were first in line when they actually came to start the distribution.

My clearance report Then the moment finally came. Like both of the paragraphs before this, this paragraph’s last sentence would start with “fortunately”. Fortunately, I passed all of my subjects!

Well … Let’s go to a side-story after being blissful for ten minutes when I’ve received my clearance report. The fifth year distributor of the reports owned a Pilot ball-point pen but she lost it due to some students feeling it was theirs—or at least because someone forgot they were still holding it. ๐Ÿ˜› Being the happiest person in the room, I gave her my Panda pen, which is much cheaper than a Pilot, telling her that she should be using those [Panda and the likes] kinds because those events really happen especially when students could be extremely happy or extremely sad that they forgot what they’re holding. ๐Ÿ˜†

Now, leaving the room, I bumped into and talked to Kuya Bert—the ESC President. He asked me why I didn’t go to the last meeting of the committee applicants. Well, I just told him the truth that I haven’t received a memo from one of the officers. After he asked that, I expected that I was not the one they picked, but I, being the inquisitive being that I am, asked him if I was chosen. Well this is really a post of “fortunately’s”. Fortunately, he said I was.

I went to the Main Building with my classmates to get to see my grades. There were so many people lined up, and again, fortunately, the line wasn’t to long when we lined up—it was doubled when we finally got our turn for the computer.

It wasn’t good but I still am happy. I got home and computed for my weighted average. It is, fortunately , higher than the one I’ve had last semester though I haven’t got a 3.0 then and I have 2 of it now.

Happy? Not really … I’ve got no money for summer! LOLx

    CSS Naked Day

Btw, you may ask what is this CSS Naked Day. It is a celebration of semantic and purely structural markup that signifies the separation of style from content—the separation of presentational markup [e.g., <b>, <i>, <u>] from XHTML to make way for CSS as the presentational element in a web page. It showcases a bunch of web sites [including my web site] that participates in showing a page that is clear and not confusing even without stylesheets included. Please go to Dustin Diaz’s original entry for comments about the CSS Naked Day.

  • The Weekend

At last, only a couple of weeks and a handful of schoolwork are left before I graduate from sophomore year! Before this weekend came, it was almost like hell that I could not have survived. But, yes, I am just exaggerating. ๐Ÿ˜†

My Eng 107A final exam speech about series and parallel circuits was through. I’ve got an average of 15.67 points out of 20 รขโ‚ฌโ€ fair enough for lacking eye contact with the listeners and the judges. My Fil 2 concept paper about science fiction movies have been passed รขโ‚ฌโ€ defense is left to be done on Tuesday. A quiz on Phys 205 and Math 109 also gave me a headache! And, CWTS is finally through! CWTS 2 requirements were passed and graduation took place earlier this day. I really did not expect receiving one of the two best group awards for section E (1-7) but, yeah, we got it! Now I will never have to worry about those INC grades our teacher scared us then about. ๐Ÿ˜›

Let us now go to the extra-curricular side of the story. I have passed my application for the Assistant Committee Head for the Web & Technical Committee of the ESC. I really hope to be accepted though fellow TomWeb volunteers applied for an assistant head position, which I think is also for the Web & Technical Committee. It really was something I could not have opt for but I really want to do something especially if it means something to be added to my CV. ๐Ÿ˜›

Finally, my life story: My dentist told me last February 11th that he may be able to remove my braces the next month. Excited, I went there last Friday. Unfortunately, my lower incisors still move that he could still not remove my braces. ๐Ÿ™ So now I’m left excited, still, for April. ๐Ÿ˜›

Please wish me good luck for another hell week and for the final exams week! I badly need it. ๐Ÿ˜€

  • Post-Valentine post

Time goes by so fast and I really feel very left behind. So many things cram up my schedule; I don’t know what to think anymore. Valentine’s day was simple รขโ‚ฌโ€ so many restrictions made it somehow that way. With all those planning that fell apart, I just want to tell my baby I’m so sorry. Engineering Week kept me busy with projects. And รขโ‚ฌโ€ my most hated part รขโ‚ฌโ€ minor subjects kept making me feel they’re so important.

    Here’s almost everything:

    1. I have to finish an acceptance speech for Eng 107A for tomorrow รขโ‚ฌโ€ memorized and complementary to one of my classmate’s presentation speech that have arrived in my inbox just about now.
    2. I have to research and draft a concept paper about Mga Epekto ng mga Pelikulang Sci-Fi sa mga Hinaharap na Pagbabago sa Intelektwal na Aspeto ng mga Manonood for Fil 2 for Saturday.
    3. I have to pass my Masterpiece for Phl 5 for Tuesday.
    4. I have to pass two Final Laboratory Reports for Phys 205L for Wednesday; and
    5. I have to wake up so early on Sunday to run and “donate” money for CWTS‘s Run for Humanity.

Yes, that’s too many. Err … At least for me.

Ok, I actually had in mind a lot of things to talk about. But, I’m afraid my mind is jumbled up again right now. I think I have to start on that speech already. Until the next update. Wish me luck on everything, thanks! ๐Ÿ™‚

BTW, I have made my JoHari Window just for fun. Anyone of you who’s got nothing to do unlike me: Please, fill it out. Thank you!

  • A Bloody Good Souvenir

So many weeks have passed and I haven’t been able to update my blog. School work and social activities, I think, somehow hindered me to do so. Another thing was my host’s hardware failure erasing most of my readers’ comments, which I happen to treasure more than my articles themselves. Most of all, I really had been pressuring myself to write really good articles especially for a grand re-entrance to the blogosphere, which I sadly figured I can’t รขโ‚ฌโ€ that’s too much for my skills. I’m just going to write this like I haven’t been gone. Please bear with me. ๐Ÿ™‚

An inch-long skin-peel I have been on a really tight schedule now that I have school for six days a week. NSTP CWTS took my Monday vacation for its weekly activities. I really have been enjoying digging and leveling soil, and moving 50-kg concrete blocks during our off-campus activities. What I didn’t like was the fact the I had to ride 6-7 different public transportation routes and/or vehicles just to get there. This was the off-campus activities’ last day. Fortunately, I’ve had a souvenir. ๐Ÿ˜†

It didn’t hurt so much, I’ve just peeled my skin off for about an inch long. I just hope it wouldn’t cause infections. That photo was taken about 12 hours after the incident with the iron pick; the wound applied with an ointment. I wish I had taken photo sooner that it would look more bloody fresh and gross. *haha* ๐Ÿ˜›

Preliminary exams week has just passed making me more comfortable to write something again. Hopefully, this would go on and on again.

A lot has changed about me this new year รขโ‚ฌโ€ more fat, less computer. I’m beginning to hate myself! ๐Ÿ˜†
